BARGAIN KISS
Today was our last day in Instanbul. We were going back tomorrow. Since
Thierry was taking an afternoon flight later, he did his best to bring
us shopping around.
There's a place selling lots of old books. Thierry brought us to have a
look. Over here we bought the drawing of Konya dancers. The bargain was
fun. The seller requested a kiss from Ernie for an exchange of discount
for the 3 pieces of drawing.
Guess how I teased the seller ? I asked him to close his eyes due to the
shyness of Asian girls. Soon I used my fingers to kiss his face with a
kiss sound. We then
had to persuade him that it's Ernie's kiss. The drawings was deal at
TL18,000,000 about US$11.
Time flew especially when we were indulging in the bargain at grand
bazaar & some other unknown places for souvenirs, apple tea, Turkish
delights & so on. Ernie & I even bought the traditional set of tea glass
for our own apple tea making.
WE WERE BROKE !
In the noon, we went back to Sultanahmet area. It happened to be Friday,
prayers day for Muslim. We followed Thierry to visit Blue mosque for the
last time. This was his little wish before he went back to Paris.
Non-Muslims were not allowed to enter the interior but the courtyard.

‘We shall meet again somewhere one day.’ We shook
hands looking forward to the next meeting while seeing Thierry off with
the yellow cab.
There’s an empty feeling inside us after his leaving besides realizing
it’s the last day of our Turkey trip. We spent to the fullest on
shopping at Arasta Bazaar & shops nearby until our purse had little
Turkish Lira left.
We nearly had no enough money to eat our dinner. Good that the
restaurant we’ve been with Yuri accepted small US notes which was not
exchangeable by the money changer. My last wish of eating the rice /
chicken pudding was not fulfilled. They were all sold out.
From the restaurants, we were dragging our steps back to the hostel in
distress unwillingly to leave tomorrow.
After a week of being millionaires, we were broke now. In return, we had
lots of sweet memories with us which money cannot buy.
TURKEY IS LIKE MY HOME
I don't know why, Turkey gives me a feeling of home. I feel so
comfortable & eased here. Home sweet home, I feel the warmth like being
at home. People of the country tends to be the main reason to attract me
to go back again. It's just like my Nepal trip a few years back. The
more I know Turkey the more I wish to go back. |
