HOT AIR BALLOON’S THRILL
Goreme is a place with the Turkish meaning as ‘Don’t see me’. This was
how Christians hid themselves safely here in the past.

I was so excited to
see the hot-air balloon flying gradually when I just awoke.

Ernie was descending
in the pigeon house. The purpose of the holes was for dropping
collections.
Goreme is a well-known town to visit in Cappadocia other than Uchisar.
Since this was the last day we stayed in Goreme, I determined to rent a
bike cycling around.
Ernie woke me up at 7am. Sitting at the bed awaiting Ernie to come out
from the bathroom, the hot-air balloon flying gradually seen from the
window got rid of my drowsiness at once.
I quick grabbed my camera intuitively shooting at the hot-air balloon in
the sky until it’s out of my sight. |
‘Ernie, hurry, Ernie … you are going to miss this spectacular scene’ I
was very excited & thrilled calling Ernie out to see the hot-air balloon
which I dreamed for a ride.
A ride of the hot-air balloon cost US$120 per person can only be a dream
to come true next time due to tight budget.
Renting a bike could be another enjoyable activity. Since I was the
first customer in the early morning, the boss gave me a cheap rent for
the bicycle. One hour ride was fantastic but I felt lonely without
Ernie’s company.
After the breakfast at the pension, we walked to the bus stop to meet
Thierry up.
THIERRY’S WEDDING CHURCH
Exploring the interior pigeon house was fun. We climbed the cave level
by level. I was stuck while descending. Thanks for the help of Ernie &
Thierry.
We kept hiking & rest at a field while listening Thierry introducing us
ROSE VALLEY, WHITE VALLEY. I was soaked to the skin with the sweat in
the hot day.

The red color at the
back is Rose valley whereas the white valley is in the front.
Soon we reached a rock cave which was said to be a church inside. I saw
the hand-written map hold in Thierry’s hand. Thierry was good in the
direction in the valleys with the precious map gifted by a local friend.
