RESTAURANT CAR
Early in the morning, we moved to the pension next door named Paradise
pension which we found comfortable with the polite owner. Room rate for
an ordinary twin bed room with bathroom attached was reasonable at
US$16.
Though their cave room we had later found out on the top was
attractive, we were lazy to make a change. The room we were arranged
into looked simple & nice.
Today we were free to shop around. The beautiful Cappadocia postcards
with scenery like the Uchisar castle, fairy chimney sold here caught our
attention. We were wondering how to get to these tourist spots. ‘Is
there any bus to these places in the postcards?’ Ernie enquired. ‘Yes,
you can rent a restaurant car.’ The boss was kind enough to suggest us.
Restaurant car?? We were in puzzle when the boss continued. ‘The
restaurant car owned by Mercan restaurant next door is available.’ he
continued.
Fairy chimney is very
much alike smurf house. Grapes grow well on the ground of fertile soil.
We didn’t notice we were at a souvenir store right next to Mercan
restaurant where we dined in last night. What a coincidence! Deal! The
rental was TL25,000,000 for 2 places. The son of the restaurant owner
became our driver to Uchisar castle & Fairy chimney. We would be meeting
at the restaurant at 2pm for departure. |

inside Uchisar castle to climb to the top.
SLEEPING AT THE POST OFFICE
2 hours left before the departure, I took the time to send out some
postcards I’ve written. The post office was closed for lunch. Wandering
around, I was curious to see a girl & a guy sleeping outside the post
office. At first, I thought they might be too tired while waiting for
the post office to reopen. It proved me wrong when I met a guy in
uniform seemed like an army.
The ‘army’ told me they were Japanese self-backpacker. Both the girl &
the guy were being robbed due to self hiking inside the valleys. ‘It’s
quite dangerous to be alone in the valleys.’ The ‘army’ warned me. He
explained to me the girl was being spiked & the guy was being hit from
the back.
They were lucky to be discovered in stupor later although they had lost
their passports, money & camera. He just lodged a report to the central.
