CHICKEN CAN BE PUDDING !?
Yuri once told us the loneliest moment for self-traveler is meal time.
Since we were together today, I suggested trying out Turkish dishes. We
ordered 5 dishes to share. Of course, I ordered apple tea again.
The refrigerator at the left caught my attention. There were chicken
pudding & rice pudding to choose. It’s a cold dessert.
As a pudding lover, I ordered chicken pudding to try. It’s very
delicious & I even saw the fiber/tissue of the chicken inside the
pudding. How amazing! This was the first time I ever known chicken can
be pudding.
Topkapi palace was our next stop since it was just few minute walks from
the restaurant.
This is a palace of Sultans from 1462 until they moved to Dolmabahce
palace in 19th century. We spent most of our time on the exhibits of
arms, silverware & porcelain. From Topkapi palace, we could catch a very
good view overlooks both the Marmara sea & Bosphorus. We had to miss the
harem with a long queue & extra charges for our next stop, Egyptian
bazaar.

In the evening, on our way back to the pension from
Egyptian bazzar, we stopped by a street vendor for some drinks. I didn't
know how to pay with so much money in my purse I'd changed in the
afternoon. So I took out all my money for the boss to pick himself. He
then warned me kindly that it's not safe to expose big notes on the
street in Turkey. I felt embarrassed with my tongue out. After all, I
was not used to be a millionaire in here. The currency notes are all too
big to count.
We then went back to the pension
getting ready to
take a night bus to our next destination – Cappadocia.
Yuri planned to spend 1 more day in Istanbul before flying to another
city with domestic flight. We had to say goodbye to each other. Though
it’s a day of companion from stranger to friend, I treasure such a
companionship very much.
