Soon after the breakfast, Yuri moved to the Konya pension where we stayed because the accommodation she had
spent overnight didn’t provide hot bath at night. 3 of us become a
companion exploring Istanbul city today.
Aya Sofya was used to be a supreme church thousand years ago. It’s
converted from a church to a mosque by adding domes on the roof & a
mihrab indicating the kibble (direction of Mecca). The magically
conversion is done.
The beauty of acceptance other religious beliefs & cultures can really
be discovered in this country. We see the fact through our eyes in here.

Aya Sofya museum is
at the back. In the front is a kind of daily food for Turks named Simit.
One cost TL$1,000,000 around RM2.375.

The mosaic art inside is my great interest. US$10 is required for the
admission. Downstairs happened to be having a renovation when we
visited. We were disappointed that no mosaics inside after a few search.
Yuri & I went to ask a guard for the truth before we left in regret. He
pointed upstairs. We had to walk out the grand door of the mosques &
proceeded to the right end.

We nearly missed the
mosaics in the Aya Sofya museum upstairs.
‘Huh? Another US$10 or TL15,000,000 for the entrance fees to upstairs ?’
I was surprised. We were hesitating for a minute.
‘I don’t want to regret’. I cried. We walked along the stone paved
corridor to upstairs. ‘This is marvelous!’ when I saw the surviving
mosaics of Jesus & Madonna & child on the wall.
Through the open windows, we could see blue mosque right opposite from
Aya Sofya. They look just like husband & wife sitting opposite to each
other.
